With an eye on the safety and health of students, staff, and families, Martinsville City Schools will operate under the first phase of the division’s reopening plan when classes resume Aug. 10.
“In light of the data indicating sharp increases in cases of COVID-19 in Martinsville, Henry County, and the nation; Martinsville City Public Schools will be using Phase 1 of our reopening plan, with remote learning for all students,” officials said in a release.
This aligns with Goal 2: Safe and Supportive Schools of our six-year comprehensive plan, which has as an objective to promote the physical wellness of students and staff.
“We will continue to work with the local health department to monitor the health of our community and make decisions about moving into Phase 2, and eventually into Phase 3,” officials said in a release.
Safety measures and equipment will be in place when students and staff return. Remote learning; laptops and materials available for students.
