Admission tickets are $65 per person and include food and drinks. 50/50 raffle tickets are $20 each or $100 for six. Vendors include Snag-A-Bag, Scentsy, Wanda’s Designs, Crystals Creations, Paparazzi, Susie’s Sweets & Treats, Perfectly Imperfect Design, Still House Products, Tupperware, It’s a Man Thing, J.A.M. Cake Kakepops, Black Sheep Retro, Sassy Little Sprouts Boutique. $5 gets 2 paddles and a door prize ticket. Extra paddles are $1 each. Event will include door prizes, 50/50 tickets and extra door prize tickets will be available at $1 a ticket or 7 tickets for $5. Savor the last of the season with Sounds on the Square’s final concert of the year – summer going out with a bang with Rosebud Band at the MHC Heritage Museum, 1 E. Main St., Martinsville. The free concert will be from 7-10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19 (update made on Sept. 2). Food and drinks will be available for purchase, and admission to the MHC Heritage Museum will be half price. The Floyd-based band draws inspiration from long-form improvisation. Rosebud stretches each tune into a living, breathing experience. Members are Ryan Thaw on bass, William Hairston on guitar, Colin Cospel on guitar, Blaine Kaiser on drums and Will Tillery on keyboards.

A series of four classes on genealogical research will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Bassett Historical Center on the first four Tuesdays in September (1, 8, 15, 22). The Martinsville-Henry County Lions Club regularly meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Pacific Bay Restaurant, 530 Commonwealth Blvd, Martinsville.
Bassett Ruritan Club, 277 Philpott Dam Road, Bassett, hosts breakfast on the 2nd Saturday of each month, $9 for adults, and $4 for children under 12. All you can eat, sausage, fried bologna, eggs, cooked apples, sausage gravy, biscuits, made-to-order pancakes, coffee, and juice. Dine in or carry out.

The Fontaine Ruritan Club hosts Bingo every Tuesday, 1903 Joseph Martin Highway, Martinsville. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and games begin at 7. Money from Bingo supports community service awards, scholarships, and other community efforts.
