Lucy’s Lemonade Stand raised $10,000 for the Martinsville-Henry County SPCA during its third annual fundraiser.
The money will help support the shelter’s mission of caring for homeless animals while they await adoption. Donations may still be made in honor of Lucy’s Lemonade Stand by noting the fundraiser with gifts to the SPCA.
The event was supported by two corporate sponsors, ActivWall Custom Windows & Doors and Chasin’ Tails Pet Spa.
“Their generous donations enabled us to meet our goal,” said SPCA board member Patti Covington.
The young volunteers shared why supporting the shelter is important to them.
“I love helping the SPCA to give the dog something better to look forward to,” said Sally Vaughn.
“I like the dogs at the SPCA, because I want the dogs to have a home,” said Lucy Rotrocl.
“I love helping them to make sure they’re healthy, and they get a good home,” said Liza Harris.
“I want to help in the SPCA. All the animals stay there,” said Molly Sherrill.
