Martinsville Police Department officers and United States Marshals Service located and arrested De’Corrius Thompson on June 13. Thompson had been wanted in connection to the May 12 murder of Marcie Hunt.
Acting on a tip, officers went to a home in the 1300 block of Hillcrest Road, just outside the city limits of Martinsville. There, Thompson was taken into custody without incident on charges of first-degree murder, malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Additionally, Thompson was arrested on outstanding charges from Henry County (felony probation violation) and the Virginia State Police (malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, use of firearm from a vehicle and maliciously shooting at an occupied vehicle). These charges were not related to the May 12 Martinsville incident.
Thompson is being held in the Martinsville City Jail without bond.
His arrest follows the May 27 arrest of Kaniya Finney. Finney was charged with accessory to first degree murder and accessory to malicious wounding in connection with the May 12 incident.
