Connect Health + Wellness announced a new dental hygienist was hired in Patrick County, a position made possible through funding from the Virginia Health Care Foundation (VHCF).
This addition expands preventive dental care services for individuals and families in the Patrick Springs community, helping to address critical oral health needs and reduce barriers to care.
“Access to dental care remains a significant challenge in many rural communities,” said Marcus Stone, CEO, Connect Health + Wellness. “With support from the Virginia Health Care Foundation, this expansion strengthens our mission by increasing access to essential preventive services and improving health outcomes across the Patrick County community. Strategic partnerships like this are critical to extending our reach and ensuring more individuals and families receive the care they need.”
The newly funded dental hygienist is the first in the organization’s history and will provide services including cleanings, screenings, preventive education and support for patients in establishing ongoing dental care.
The hygienist will serve patients in both Patrick Springs and Martinsville, expanding access to preventive services across both communities. These services play a critical role in areas where access to dental care is limited, helping to prevent more serious health issues and improve overall well-being.
This initiative is funded in part by the Virginia Health Care Foundation, whose support allows Connect Health + Wellness to continue expanding services to underserved populations and improving overall community health.
