Pieces Too Boutique, a Martinsville clothing store, celebrated the first day of spring with a community event following a recent change in ownership.

Located off Commonwealth Boulevard, the boutique features trendy clothing, shoes and accessories, along with a section offering Bath & Body Works products.

The store invited local vendors to take part in the spring event, which included activities designed to draw in customers.

“Today we’re having our sprinkling. We have a bunch of local artists and vendors outside, as well as we have some hidden golden eggs around. You could spin the wheel of deals,” said District Manager Destiny Hatcher.

Owner Shannon Walker described the shop’s style as modern and accessible.

“I would say more, a lot of people like to say younger, but we are more, I would just say, trendy,” Walker said. “It’s like a trendy, girly, very modern vibe … but I literally have something for everybody here.”

Walker purchased the business in mid-2025 from former owner Brenda Simpson.

“She decided that she wanted to retire, and I was a constant customer of hers. I was in here frequently, so she offered the store to me when I came in one day,” Walker said.

Walker, who also owns Envision Health, said she hopes the boutique will serve as more than just a retail space.

“Pieces is for every woman. It’s literally just a space that you can come in. We have a couch in the back. You can hang out and talk to your friends, you can come in and shop, you can come in and talk,” she said. “It’s just a safe space for everybody.”

The business is also looking to expand its offerings and community involvement.

“We’re looking to bring things like Pilates. Eventually, we would like to do something with events … and we’re looking to grow Pieces Too and take it to other areas,” Walker said.

The boutique has hosted fundraisers and plans to continue supporting local efforts.

“We want to continue to do that and be a part of the community,” Walker said, noting past donations to the warming center and domestic violence shelters, as well as efforts to help families with groceries.

Pieces Too Boutique is located at 1321 S. Memorial Blvd. The store opens daily at 10 a.m., with hours, events and new arrivals posted on its Facebook page. It can be reached at 276-336-3860.
