Ferrum College’s Patrick Corrigan was named the 2025-2026 All-Conference Carolinas Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year in the Panthers’ first year competing in the league and NCAA Division II.

After Ferrum was picked to finish last in the 16-team men’s basketball preseason poll, Corrigan led the Panthers to a 16-10 overall record, including a 14-6 league mark, and a third-place finish in the Conference Carolinas regular season standings. The Panthers will compete in the 2026 Conference Carolinas Tournament as the No. 3 seed, earning a bye into the quarterfinals.

“I am extremely excited for Coach Corrigan and the entire Men’s Basketball team. I am excited for Ferrum College. This is a very impressive accomplishment, especially since this is our first year in NCAA Division II and in Conference Carolinas,” said Cleive Adams ‘02, director of athletics at Ferrum College.

Ferrum College President Mirta M. Martin also praised Corrigan’s leadership and the broader impact of the team’s success on the campus community.

“This recognition of Patrick Corrigan as Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year by Conference Carolinas speaks not only to a remarkable season, but to the character and conviction with which he leads every single day. Coach Corrigan builds more than winning teams—he builds young men of purpose, resilience, and integrity,” Martin said. “We are extraordinarily proud of Coach Corrigan, of our student athletes, and of the recognition this achievement brings to Ferrum College. It is a moment that lifts our entire campus community and reminds us what is possible when leadership and purpose align.”
