Patriot Players: 2019 Christmas Spectacular, a sequel to our popular 2017 revue, this holiday themed music revue is a show that the whole family can enjoy. Featuring the Ray Hollingsworth Dance and Arts Studio Dancers. Rated: G. Directed by Producing Artistic Director, Devin Pendleton. Tickets are $15 in advance, or $20 at door. Children 5 and under get in free but must sit in the lap of a ticket-holder. Performances are held in the Walker Fine Arts theatre on the campus of Patrick Henry Community College, located at 645 Patriot Ave, Martinsville.
YMCA: Miles in Martinsville 2019 Light Up The Night 5K, starting at 5 p.m., at the Uptown Farmer’s Market. Participants may pick up their packets with race bibs on race day at the Uptown Farmers Market from 3:30-4:30 PM. Interested participants may also register in person at these times.
Martinsville – Henry County Tourism Office: Santa & Mrs. Claus will be at the Martinsville-Henry County Visitor Center from 12-3 p.m., to visit with all the good boys and girls and hear those special holiday wishes. Bring your own camera to take your own pictures.

Fieldale United Methodist Church: The combined choirs of Fieldale United Methodist Church and Fieldale Baptist Church will present “Have You Heard,” a Celtic Christmas celebration, at 4 p.m. at Fieldale United Methodist Church, 36 Patrick Avenue, Fieldale, Va 24089. Admission is free.
Ferrum College: The Ferrum College Chorale, Concert Choir, and Spiritual Life’s Fresh Wind Gospel Choir will present “The Never Ending Story: A Reflection on the Teachings of Jesus and His Birth” on Sunday, December 8, 2019, at 7 p.m. in Vaughn Chapel on campus, 40 Wiley Drive, Ferrum. This performance is free and open to the public.

Henry County Bike Club: The Henry County Bike Club will ride at the Mountain Laurel Trails in Ridgeway every Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Occasionally the Mountain Bike Ride may be held at Cedar Ridge Trails. In those instances, the Henry County Bike Club will post an update on the website as well as the Facebook page. Thursday Trail Trekkers: Fieldale Trail, 1 p.m. This group, co-sponsored by Henry County Parks & Recreation and the Dan River Basin Association, will meet on Thursdays to explore a different trail every week. Weather permitting, we will meet at designated locations throughout the county, and sometimes in nearby parts of neighboring counties for hikes. All the trails selected will be moderate in length and difficulty and senior-friendly, but there is no minimum age requirement. Please contact Paul Johnson at kpj24112@gmail.com with any questions. Spencer Penn Centre: Join Sifu Kristian Gordon for a series of Martial Arts classes at Spencer-Penn. Class occurs every Thursday, from 6-7 p.m. Cost for the entire month is $40 for members of the Centre or $65 for non-members. All ages, fitness and experience levels are welcome. Mountain Valley Artisan Barn: Creative Corral, weekly beginning at 6 p.m. All ages welcome. You are invited out to Mountain Valley Artisan barn each Thursday for our Creative Corral. Martinsville Uptown Revitalization Association: 2nd Thursdays, between the hours of 5pm-8pm, enjoy blockbuster sales, one of a kind specials and a shopping experience like never before. A number of shops and businesses that usually close around 5 p.m., will be extending their hours on this evening for customer convenience. Many restaurants will also be offering specials, so make sure to include dinner out in your plans that night.

HJDB Event Center: BINGO Fundraiser to raise money for the preservation of the HJDB Event Center. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and BINGO will begin at 7 p.m. $20 for the first BINGO packet and $10 for each additional packet. Hot dogs and concessions will be available.
