If you are looking for a fun and exciting creative outlet for your children this summer, look no further than Piedmont Arts’ summer day camps. With four sessions running through June and July for grades K-5, there is something exciting for everyone to try and avenues for all kinds of self-expression. Camp choices this year include Art Camp and the Curtains Up! Theatre Camp. Each camp is $80 for members and $90 for non-members.
In Art Camp, campers will explore a variety of artistic techniques, styles and materials. Every day they will create new work showcasing these techniques. An art show will take place at the end of camp, showcasing campers’ work for their families to enjoy. For grades K-2, class meets daily June 10 – 14 from 9 a.m. to noon each day. For grades 3-5, camp meets daily June 17-21 from 9 a.m. to noon. Advanced registration is required.
At the museum’s Curtains Up! Theater Camp, children will get an opportunity to learn everything they need to take center stage. Theatre is an art rooted in creative self-expression and creative imagination. Campers will learn the foundation of theatre skills that will culminate in a small performance for friends and families at the end of the week. For grades K-2, camp meets daily July 15-19 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. For grades 3-5, camp meets daily July 22-26 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Advanced registration is required.
