Anna Bowe Lester Wells died at her home on Sunday, April 2, 2023.
She was born in Martinsville, VA on September 5, 1927, to Henry Claybrook Lester and Natalie Penn Lester.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Reverend Lynwood Daves Wells Sr.; her brother, Henry Claybrook Lester Jr.; her son, Charles Thomas Fleenor, Jr., and two stepsons, John Emory Wells, and Peter (Pete) R. Wells.
She is survived by daughters, Natalie Coleman (Nick) and Susan Fleenor; by stepson, Lynwood Daves Wells Jr.; by granddaughters, Sarah Coleman (John Freeman) and Anna Screeney (Michael); by grandson, Ryan Coleman, and by three great grandchildren. Also surviving is her dear friend of many years, Marian Young Preston.
Anna Bowe will be remembered as a gracious lady, a loving wife and mother, a devoted friend, and a spiritual advisor to many. Hers was a life well lived.
An inurnment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023, with Dr. Libby Grammer and the Rev. John Adams officiating.
