Clifton Ray Ashworth “Shysta,” 49, of Danville, VA passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at his home. He was born March 22, 1973, in Martinsville, VA to Carolyn Taylor Ashworth and Jimmy D. Ashworth.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Luke Ashworth; step-sons, Hunter Goad and Tyler Goad; Shelly Brown Ashworth; brother, Jimmy Ashworth (Michelle); niece and nephew, Lane and Carlee Ashworth; brother-in-law, Keith Warrick (Jessie); and niece, Evelyn Warrick.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Angela Marie Ashworth.
Clifton worked in construction for J.W. Squire and was a member of Spring Street Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding four wheelers, and relaxing on the beach. He also loved watching racing and was Jeff Gordon’s biggest fan. Most of all, he loved being on the ball field with his boys and was always there for his friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2022, at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel with Pastor Billy Smith officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial will be held at Roselawn Burial Park. The family will also receive friends at other times at the home of his parents, 2284 Sandy River Rd., Axton, VA 24054 and his sons, 107 Windsor Trail, Danville, VA 24541.
