Pop’s Farm will host The Yarn Picnic, a socially distanced concert set to take place at the main stage amphitheater. A slew of musicians will be featured. The event offers on-site camping, great beer and libations, and food vendors. This will be a socially distanced show. Masks must be worn by all in attendance. Yarn will headline each night. In addition, other performers include James Justin Burke of “JJ & CO,” Lizzy Ross and Omar Ruiz Lopez, Joey Recchio & Ashley Sutton of “Big Daddy Love,” Soul Grind, Violet Bell, The Jared Stout Band and Heavy Peace. The Dan River Basin Association is seeking volunteers for a work-day at the Spencer Penn Woodland Trail beginning at 9 a.m. Volunteers will help rake, spread mulch, plant flowers, decorate the butterfly boardwalk, assemble accessories and more. Please bring gloves, dress appropriately for the weather, wear sturdy shoes and be prepared to get dirty. Masks and social distancing are encouraged. Crawford and Power will be playing at Pop’s Farm, with a solo opening from Corey Hunley. This socially distanced concert will take place at the main stage amphitheater and feature a night of country music. In addition, the event will feature on-site camping, great beer and libations, and food vendors. This will be a socially distanced show. Masks must be worn by all in attendance. Pop’s Farm will host two nights of the legendary jamband moe. Moe.morial Day Weekend: A Rooster Walk Family Gathering will feature two nights of moe., as well as two opening bands on Friday, and four opening bands on Saturday. The event will also feature on-site camping, libations and food vendors. No outside alcohol will be allowed, and social distancing, as well as mask wearing, will be required of all in attendance. Gates open to campers on Friday at noon and 3 p.m. for non-campers. Music begins at 5 p.m. On Saturday, the gates open to campers at 10 a.m. and noon for non-campers. Patrick Henry Community College is hosting an Introduction to Arduino course on Thursdays from May 6-27. Students will learn to program an Arduino board to control everyday objects.
