Between May 3 and May 13, residents have an opportunity to meet the four finalists vying to become Patrick Henry Community College’s (PHCC) next president.
The State Board for Community Colleges certified the four from among 64 applicants.
The finalists are Dr. Alessandro Anzalone of Tampa, Florida; Dr. Jermaine Ford of Lafayette, Louisiana; Dr. J. Gregory Hodges of Ridgeway, Virginia; and Dr. Tanjula Petty of Pike Road, Alabama.
Each will be invited to individually visit the college and meet the community. During the visits, each candidate also will conduct an Open Forum to answer questions from the community.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the forums will be held via Zoom. Community members are invited to tune into Open Forums at 9 a.m. on the following dates.

Please note, questions and comments will not be taken during the forum. Questions were submitted ahead of time by the community. Due to time limitations, not every submitted question will be asked.
After the forum, participants will be invited to complete a survey to provide the selection committee with feedback on the candidates.
The Chancellor of Virginia’s Community Colleges will make the final decision before September 1, 2021. PHCC’s current president, Dr. Angeline Godwin is scheduled to retire on July 1, 2021.
