The Reynolds Homestead will kick-off Black History Month on February 3 with a program titled “History Around Us.”
Chad Martin, program director for History United, will present the program at noon.
History United is an innovative partnership between Virginia Humanities and the Danville Regional Foundation. Now in its sixth year, History United establishes a community network, bringing together different cultural organizations – using history to encourage future endeavors. Work includes preserving history, arts, culture, and humanities for the Middle Border (Caswell, Danville, and Pittsylvania counties). History United uses DNA tests, family history, local tours, buildings, community discussions, and a summer teaching series for teachers to use to incorporate local history into classrooms, book reads, historical exhibits, and so much more.
