Leroy “Lee” Nowlin, 72, of Patrick Springs, Virginia passed away Friday, December 25, 2020, at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. He was born October 20, 1948, in Patrick Springs, Virginia to the late Charlie and Lillie Penn Nowlin. He attended Harvest Worship Center and was very knowledgeable about the Bible. He loved kick ball and base ball as a child. He loved all cars and playing the lottery. He was a noble, simple man and a real gentleman. Mr. Nowlin had worked at R. J. Reynolds Patrick Memorial Hospital as a CNA and retired from Hanes Brand in Woolwine, Virginia.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Linda Clark, and Penny Nowlin (infant); brothers, Rev. James “Dobie” Nowlin, and Douglas Nowlin.
Mr. Nowlin is survived by sisters, Stella Hairston (James), Janice Nowlin, Ann Watlington, and Sandra Nowlin; nephew, Derrick Nowlin; sister in law, Barbara Nowlin; and a host of nieces, cousins and other family members.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at 2:00 PM at the Nowlin Family Cemetery, with Elder Rufus Baker officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel.
