Explore new art forms, mediums and techniques with a fresh slate of art classes at Piedmont Arts. The museum is offering in-person classes for a limited number of attendees, as well as a new virtual watercolor class that will take place online via Zoom. Social distancing and masks are required at all in-person classes.
Senior Studio – Wednesdays, Dec. 2, 9 and 16, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.; free to members, $5 per class for non-members. Seniors are invited to paint together in the Piedmont Arts classroom. Sessions are self-guided and provide a space to socialize while creating artwork. Bring your own supplies. Non-members pay at the door.
Studio with Karen Despot – Thursday, Dec. 17, 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., $30 members, $35 non-members. Need a little guidance on your artwork? Spend studio time working in acrylic, oil or colored pencil with artist Karen Despot and fellow students. Bring your own supplies.
Winter Barn Quilt — Thursday, Dec. 3, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.; choose your design from Trees in Snow, Holly, Blue Illusion, Santa or Blue Jay; $35 members, $40 non-members. Paint a 12 in. x 12 in. barn quilt with instructor Lisa Martin. Participants choose from five design options prior to class. All supplies provided.
Virtual Watercolor Class – Thursday, Dec. 10, 6 p.m., online class via Zoom, Subject: Wine Glass, $30 members, $35 non-members. Join artist Ashleigh Pritchard for a virtual watercolor class via Zoom. A kit, including everything you need to complete the class, will be available for pick up at Piedmont Arts prior to class. Class link will be sent after registration. Registration required 48 hours prior to class.
