Zena, a terrier/American pit bull mix, didn’t have the easiest life before she arrived at the Martinsville-Henry County SPCA, according to Leigh Ann Minnick, an animal care technician for the SPCA.
“She just needs some time with somebody that is going to work with her and let her know it’s okay to trust humans again,” Minnick said. “Unfortunately, we think she was on a chain before we got her.”
Minnick said that Zena is likely not suited for younger children, or for homes with another dog or cat.
Dogs older than 4 months old are available for adoption from the SPCA for $10.
